About | Helen M. Reno (nee Molik), age 99 of Hobart, formerly of Glen Park and Tolleston, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Survived by four children: Fred Reno, David (Pat) Reno, Don (Lynn) Reno, Jan (Tom) Quade; 13 adoring grandchildren: Fred, Kathleen, Jenny, Caroline, Shannon, Sarah, Sharon, David, Joshua, Mark, Daniel, Matthew, and Steve; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends: Dorothy Manley, Ivana Znika, and Katie Jelovcic; her loving K-9 companion, Tasha. Preceded in death by husband, Fred Reno in 1961; parents, Peter and Justina Molik; brothers: Casey, Bill, David, Jim, and Peter Molik; sisters: Mary Yards, Margaret Pike, Anne Krejici, and Liska Zemelko. Helen was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Gary, and Rosary Sodality. She was a former member of the Gary F.O.P. Auxiliary and Msgr. Ryder K of C Wives Club. Helen was a graduate of Horace Mann High School, Class of 1933. She was proud to have retired from 49th Avenue Bakery in Gary where she had been a well known and much loved figure for decades. Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville on Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 2:30 p.m. Funeral service will be Monday, March 16, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:00 a.m. from St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 330 E. 45th Ave., Gary, with Rev. Stephen Loncar officiating. At Rest Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. For ten years, Helen enjoyed the laughter and love which surrounded and nourished her while she lived with Lynn and Don. They opened their home to her and then opened their hearts and minds, providing her with the warmth and security we all need. Family and friends were an extremely important part of Helen's life. Through her warm loving ways and her compassion for others, she taught each and every one of us the things that are important in this life. |
