Donald Joseph Mulloy was one of the greatest people you’d come across in a lifetime. We are all better people for knowing him. He spent his life surrounded by family, music and dogs. He valued sharing love, humor and positivity every day. Growing up in Gary, IN he came from a family of five brother and sisters named Denny, Mickey, Jerry, Rita, and Donny was the youngest boy. He graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1968 and soon after enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam and received an honorary Purple Heart medal. He continued his education at University of Albuquerque and graduated from Regis Jesuit University.

Don made his home in Denver, Colorado where he raised his family with Virginia and had two children, Matt and Eryn and a house full of dogs at all times. The Mulloy house was everyone’s home, and Don was everyone’s dad. Friends, family and dogs were always passing though, and often enjoying an evening of Don playing guitar and long conversations that ran late into the night.

When he wasn’t playing music he was playing softball. He loved being on the ball field and coaching his team The Postal Express for over a decade. He was the heart of the team and won several tournaments all over Colorado. His team was built from his friends and co-workers at the U. S Postal Service in which he retired from in 1997.

By all means he felt his work was not done. He continued to serve his community and volunteered in several organizations. He actively supported Art from Ashes, Volunteers of America, Division of Wildlife, Veteran’s Hospital, and Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. He loved being a member of the Assumption parish and would volunteer at every bazaar, bingo and food bank they had.

Don also was so honored to be a member of the Knights of Columbus Coronado Council 3268 and served as a 4th Degree Knight.

A true Irishman with so much love to share and stories to tell, Don left his mark on everyone who he met.
