About	Peter Allen Steffus, age 75 of Hobart, passed away on January 19, 2015. He was a graduate of Horace Mann High School, class of 1957 and Purdue University Calumet, class of 1962 where he graduated with an associate degree in architecture. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served as a trustee, the Hobart YMCA and the Maria Reiner Center. Pete was a former member of the Hobart Sportsman Club, Hobart FOP, Sons of the American Legion, was a Little League Baseball coach and a Biddy Basketball coach. He was a retired Supervisor of the Blast Furnace, LTV Steel, East Chicago and a former Glazier Union member. Pete was a 14 year survivor of numerous cancers. Pete is survived by his wife, Carol Elaine (nee Emory) Steffus; daughter, Catherine Lois (John) Northcott of Marlborough, NH; son, James Peter (Lynne) Steffus of Brownsburg, IN; daughter, Christine Carol (Vince) Amore of Hobart and son, Thomas Stuart (Jennifer) Steffus of Palatine, IL; grandchildren: Grant and Catherine Hope Boeringa, Scott and Reagan Steffus, Alex Amore, Kyle and Jared Amore, Elaine and Holly Steffus; brother- in-law: Donald (Martha) Govert; sister-in-law: Marilyn Emory Moehl; sister-in-law: Jean Emory Ewing Lloyd (Ed); many cousins, nieces, nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Lois Steffus; brother, Gary Paul Steffus; in-laws: H. S. and Catherine (nee Goetz) Emory; sister- in-law, Catherine Emory Govert; brothers-in-law, Harry Moehl and Robert Ewing; and beloved kitty, Oscar.
