Margie Fern Waite passed to eternal life in Heaven on July 16, 2014 at age 92.
The love of her life, Bert A. Waite preceded her in death on September 29, 1999, after 58 years of marriage. Her beloved daughter, Sandie, preceded her in death on June 11, 1998. Margie was the third child born to Walter and Hazel Ferguson on September 13, 1921 in Lovilia, Iowa.
She is survived by her loving sister, Carole Finnerty of Hebron and two sisters-in-law: Dorothy Waite of Richland, Washington and Elaine Waite of Hobart. She is also survived by four children and children-in-law who love and adore her: Sharon and Tom Hatfield of Florida; Bert and Teresa Waite of Virginia; Becky and Kevin Olvaney of Indianapolis; and Robyn and Tim Schepman of California. Margie is the loving and dedicated Granny to eight grandchildren: Doug Hummell, Sherra (Chris) Klasner, Nikole Waite Levenson, Meaghan Moran, Kourtney (Tom) Dodson, Janel and Mackenzie Schepman, and Brennan Olvaney; six great-grandchildren: Carson, Selene, Mia, Natalia, Payton and Logan. Aunt Margie is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Throughout her life Margie was dedicated to the love and happiness of her beloved family. Margie was a faithful member of Peace United Church of Christ in Merrillville, Indiana. Margie graduated from Horace Mann High in 1939. She loved to go fishing with Tom and Sharon. She still holds the family record for the biggest crappie.
