About	Valerie Ann Sanders (nee Cwiklinski), 74, of Lake Station, IN passed away peacefully Saturday, July 26, 2014 at home surrounded by her family and friends after suffering a massive stroke. She was born in Gary, IN on July 31, 1939, graduated from Horace Mann in 1957 and was the original owner of the COVER GIRL Beauty Salon on Lake Street in Miller. Valerie was a legal secretary in Chicago and later a card dealer at Majestic Star Casino and Harrah's until her retirement in 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Cwiklinski, Ann V. Jocus; husband, Robert (Bob) Sanders, Jr.; brother, T. Noel Jocus; and sister, Julie Ann Bates. She is survived by three children: JoEtta (Steve) Jackomis, Vicki Sanders, James (Rachel) Sanders; five grandchildren: Ricky (Jacquie) Sanders, Warren Ugalde-Sanders, Paulina Ugalde-Sanders, Zoe Sanders, Zane Sanders; two great grandchildren; two sisters: Michelle Ann (Thomas) Aabye-Davis, Carol Ann (Wayne) Brown; one brother, Edward Jocus; six nieces: Elizabeth Beatrice Pratt, Valerie Ann Wolfe, Noele (Juan) Aabye, Natalie Aabye, Meredith Aabye and Tracy (Greg) Sanders-Eder; and mother-in-law, Pauleene Sanders.
