About	James H. Engle, age 71, of Merrillville, entered into Heaven on Monday, June 16, 2014 during surgery. He was preceded in death by his wonderful parents: George and Dorothy; his loving wife, Linda; and sister, Deeanne. James is survived by daughter, Connie (David III) Cox and their sons: David IV and Joshua; daughter: Kimberly (Jonathan) Franklin and their daughters: Courtney and Ally; son: Bradley (Stefanie) Engle and their children: Cassidy, Zachary and Emily, and daughter: Jennifer (David) Lawson and their daughter: Tatym; uncle: Edward (Nancy) Steen; aunts: Dorothy Steen and Bobbie Steen; other family members and many friends. Our father wore many hats. He was dad, grandpa, paco, papa, electrician, and friend. After an idyllic up bringing in Gary, IN, he volunteered for the Vietnam War as a combat engineer in the Army. Dad and Mom were blessed with four children, their spouses and eight grandchildren. He loved each as individuals and offered kindness love and support. He always showed up to the good and the bad things. Dad was our father and our friend. He was an electrician for GM for 25 years. Dad helped the needy and was generous to all. He loved the Cubs, Bears, Bulls and golf. He honorably filled the role of mentor and patriarch and will be missed by all; especially his chocolate girl, Ella.
