About	Richard B. Renn Sr. "Dick", age 86, of Crown Point ( L.O.F.S.) formerly of Gary and Lowell, IN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 65 years, Sandra (Schmeltz); daughters: Debra (Rick Parker) Renn; Linda (Tib) Schultz; son: Thomas (Carla) Renn; daughter-in- law: Pamela Renn; eight grandchildren: Scott (Katie) Volk, Amber (Kevin) Knaga, Eric (Jessica) Schultz, Heather (Joseph) Henrys, Kyla (Andrew) Feder, and Jason, Erin, Tommy Renn; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard; parents: Elmer and Lura Renn; sister, Marilyn Robbins; and brother, James Renn. Dick was born and raised in Gary, IN. He graduated from Horace Mann in 1947 where he was co-captain of the football team. At an early age he started Renn Floor Covering, partnering with his brother James. Dick was always active in civic affairs. He had been an active member of the Gary Junior Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis. While living in Lowell, he was an active member of the Lions where he served as President. After moving to L.O.F.S., he served as President of that chapter as well. One of his greatest pleasures was being a part of the many activities and achievements of his children and grandchildren.
