About	October 12, 1926 - February 14, 2014 Richard T. (Dick) Miller, age 87, a lifelong area resident; formerly of Gary, Merrillville and De Motte, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014. Dick attended Horace Mann High School in Gary. He was the owner and operator of Millers Recreation in Gary for many years. Dick was a salesman for Kaplan Brothers Wholesale and finished his career with the Kimberly Clark Corporation. A World War II veteran, Dick served in the Asian Pacific Theater. Dad loved wood working, spending time with friends and family and especially his grandchildren and rooting for the Cubs. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Yvonne Davis Miller, infant son David Miller, parents Roy and Edna Miller, brother Earl Miller and sister Doris Huettner. He is survived by his children Rick Miller of De Motte, Karen Miller of De Motte, Doug (Mary) Miller of Valparaiso and Dale (Dawn) Miller of Noblesville, IN; grandchildren John, Emily, Jack, Kristen, Ana and Emily; and numerous nieces and nephews.
