About	David Arthur Hammond, age 66, of Valparaiso passed away Monday, January 6, 2014. He was born on April 14, 1947 in Gary, the son of the late Jack and Hazel (Gibbs) Hammond. David graduated from Horace Mann High School, Gary and with a degree in education from Indiana University. He was a teacher at Foreman/Joan Martin Elementary School in Hobart, retiring after over 35 years of teaching. David was a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association. David is survived by two sisters: Janice (Bob) Furto of Tinley Park, IL and Nancy (Philip) Moldofsky of Worcester, PA; and significant other, Katherine Grskovic.
