About	Margaret M. 'Peg' Bergum (nee Erler), age 65, of Cedar Lake, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013. Survived by husband, Axel, of 20 years; two daughters: Maggie Bergum of Hammond and Jodi Bergum of Chicago; three grandchildren: Andrew Staples, Cecilia Padilla, and Emma Padilla all of Hammond. Preceded in death by parents: Victor and Mildred Erler. Peg was a graduate of Horace Mann High School, Class of 1966, a former employee at Bradner Smith in Chicago, worked at St. Anthony's Day Care, and was an activities director with Towne Center Retirement Community. She and Axel were the co-owners of Sampler Square Antiques in Griffith for 20 years. Peg always put other people before herself. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She also had a real passion for her “other children” - her feline companions.
