About	David Spurlock, age 66, of Portage passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013. He is survived by daughters: Melissa (Keith) Rootkie of Valparaiso and Lee Ann Spurlock of Portage; brothers: Michael (Colleen) Spurlock of Crown Point and William (Karin) Spurlock of Noblesville, IN; sisters: Gail (Jimmy) Slinker of Hobart, Cindy (David) Bice of Merrillville, Jeannie (Nick) Spaliaras of Crown Point, and Kathy Spurlock of Lake Station; grandchildren: David, Kailee, Deanny Dalaney Rootkie, Katherine Carroll; and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; and parents: William and Leone Spurlock. David was a graduate of Horace Mann High School, Class of 1966. He was retired from U.S. Steel, Sheet & Tin Mill. He was a member of C.I.O. Local 1066 and a proud member of Sportsman Club. He was in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.
