Survived by husband, James of 35 years; son, Ross (Candace) Hales; daughter, Amy (Brian) Tonsoni; mother, Maxine Cusumano of Crown Point; 4 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Michael (Bridget) Cusumano of Hobart and Peter Cusumano of Seattle; 2 sisters, Angie (Steve) Lustina of Crown Point and Maxine (Tim Weitzel) Cusumano of Nashville, IN. Preceded in death by father, Michael J. Cusumano on March 5, 2002. Mrs. Hales was a graduate of Horace Mann High School, Gary, Class of 1962 and was a retired schoolteacher from the Elkhart School System. Funeral services and interment were held on Friday, July 12, 2002 in Elkhart, Indiana.
