About	Lawrence R. Walker, 78, died June 14, 2013 at his home in Vero Beach. Mr. Walker was born May 21, 1935 in Gary, IN and lived in Vero Beach for 28 years. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University and an MBA from Syracuse University. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity and Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society. After college he joined Allied Chemical then worked for Occidental Petroleum in various executive positions. Mr. Walker became an entrepreneur who owned and ran Nurserymen's Sure-Gro, Inc. of Vero Beach for 28 years. He was a member of the Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association (FNGLA), past treasurer of the Palm Beach Chapter of FNGLA and past president of the Treasure Coast Chapter of FNGLA. Sure- Gro was his passion and he enjoyed helping his customers grow their businesses. Mr. Walker was particularly proud of his family including his four children and twelve grandchildren. Survivors include wife of 54 years, Virginia (Ginny) H. Walker of Vero Beach; daughters: Jennifer Walker McAneny (Michael) of Chesapeake Beach, MD and Wendie Walker St. Jean (David) of Manhattan Beach, CA; sons: Geoffrey H. Walker (Shauna) of London, England and Scott K. Walker of Richmond, VA; granddaughters: Amanda McAneny, Elizabeth McAneny, Meredith McAneny, Morgan St. Jean, Emily Walker, Lila Walker and Taylor Walker; grandsons: Garrett St. Jean, Harrison St. Jean, Thomas Walker, George Walker and Daniel Walker.
