About	David J. Howell, age 76, of Crown Point, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. David is survived by his wife of 53 years, Cynthia (nee Pyle); daughter, Lisa (Gary) Daer of Colorado; son, Steve (Kathy) Howell of Illinois; three grandchildren: Gregory Daer, Teresa Howell, and Michael Howell; brother, Barry (Doreen) Howell; sister, Robin (Bill) Ott; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents. David was born in Gary, IN and was a graduate of Horace Mann High School Class of 1953. He was a graduate of Purdue University with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering, a member of the Purdue Band, and a member of Kappa Kappa Psi. He was retired from U.S. Steel and also from Mono Ceramics. David was an excellent pianist and musician and was an avid back-packer.
