Oscar Charles, Jr. 'Chuck' Wallin 80, of Lake Placid, Fla., died Wednesday January 4, 2012, in the Florida Hospital in Lake Placid with his loving daughters at his side.
Chuck was a native of Indiana, born December 12, 1931 in Gary. Chuck joined the US Army in 1952 and served through 1954 during the Korean Conflict. When Chuck was discharged he garnered employment with US Steel in Gary, Indiana. He retired after 30 years as an electrical engineer. In 1995 Chuck moved to Lake Placid from Crown Point, Indiana. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Placid. Chuck enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Placid Lakes Country Club for many years as well as the American Legion and Moose clubs. Chuck was a fun loving outgoing man. He was a pleasure to be around and will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Julie Wallin-Kinzie (Daniel) of Verona, Ky., Jennifer Wallin of Indianapolis, In; brother Robert Wallin of Bowling Green, Ky.; and his beloved granddaughter, Hadley. He was predeceased by his sister Velma.
