Jack E. Jepsen “Waterfront Jack”
Well known Treasure Coast Realtor, passionate pilot and former owner of Jepsen Moving and Storage, Jack Jepsen, aka “Waterfront Jack” received a new set of wings and moved on to heaven January 22, 2011. Born in Gary, Indiana on May 12, 1934, Jack is remembered by all as a hard-working man of great strength, unforgettable character and monumental courage. His high school years at Horace Mann were filled with lifelong friends, happy times and sports. As an all star athlete, he received numerous football scholarships including Northwestern and Notre Dame. While attending the Arkansas State, he opted to join the military and serve his country in Korea.
After an honorable discharge Jack began his life as an entrepreneur with his father in a small heating and coal business. From there, he worked his way up to become one of the twenty-three original owners of Atlas Van lines in Chicago, Illinois. As his companies expanded from coast to coast, Jack began flying his own airplanes and it was in the sky, flying endlessly through the clouds in his favorite red Baron that Jack discovered a passion that would be with him forever.
Vowing never to retire, Jack moved to the Florida Treasure Coast thirteen years ago and became one of the top realtors selling ocean and riverfront properties in the Fort Pierce and Jensen Beach area. With his inimitable personality and characteristic red airplane posted on signs throughout the town, it did not take long for “Waterfront Jack” to become a local icon.
