About	Samuel Orlich Sr., age 71 of Crown Point, IN, passed away on September 3, 2010 peacefully with his family at his side. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Yvonne; three children: Sam (Wendy) Orlich Jr., Denise (Jovan) Kangra, and Nicholas (Pamela) Orlich; five grandchildren: David, Emmanuel and Jessica Orlich and Adriana and Danijela Kangra; two sisters: Joanne Bucko and Donna Nicolich; sister-in-law, Millicent Orlich; and many nieces and nephews, Kumovi and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Jovo and Amelia Orlich and brother, Joe Orlich. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, 9191 Mississippi St. in Merrillville with Rev. Marko Matic officiating. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Friends are invited to visit with Sam's family on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Lincoln- Ridge Funeral Home, 7607 W. Lincoln Hwy., Schererville (Rt. 30 East of Cline Ave.) Pomen Prayer Service on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Sam was a graduate of Horace Mann High School Class of 1958. He retired from Lake County Sheriff's Police Department, former Lake County Recorder, and Lake County Auditor. Upon leaving public office he was the Director of the Sheriff's Work Release. Sam was a lifelong member of the Lake County Democratic Party and prior to full retirement in 2003, was active in many prominent Democratic Campaigns. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves, he was a lifelong member of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church and a former member of the Karageorge Choir. Also a member of the Lake County FOP Chris Anton Lodge 125. Memorial donations may be given to the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church or Karageorge Choir.
