About	Howard R. Coundiff, age 67, of Gary, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2005. Howard was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of American Legion Post 100 in Lake Station, the Masonic Lodge in Gary (Miller). He was the retired owner of H. Coundiff Insurance in Gary. A graduate of Horace Mann High School. Howard was preceded in death by his parents: Russell and Helena Coundiff; two brothers: Bill and John Coundiff and sister, Diane Coundiff. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Elfriede Coundiff of Gary; four children: Davis H. (Peggy) Coundiff of Lake Station, Sallie D. Minton of Chesterton, Brian R. Coundiff of Gary and Nancy K. Mangiaracina of Valparaiso; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Jacqueline L. (Bernard) Mastey of Canton, MI; niece, Tara (Michael) Brackney of Canton, MI; nephew, Adrian Zakula of Miller; one grandniece and one grandnephew.
