About	Paul D. Shafer Hobart, Indiana Age 68, passed away at St. Mary Medical Center on Monday, February 26, 2007. Paul was born in Gary and graduated from Horace Mann High School, Class of 1956. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Rita; two daughters, Paula (Andy) Wright of Winfield and Beth (Mark) Demakas of Munster; two grandchildren, Abigail and Evan; sister, Nancy (Ron) Coble of Raleigh, NC; brother, David (Joanne) Shafer of Munster; brother-in-law, Gene (Reita) Torin of Hobart; many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Paul and Kathryn Shafer. Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a charter member and past President of the Hobart Kiwanis Club. He retired from U.S. Steel, with 43 years of service where he was a member of the U.S. Steel Band. He was an avid railroad enthusiast and model train collector. He will be deeply missed by all.
