About	He was a graduate of Horace Mann High School, Class of 1952 and was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Larry retired from US Steel Sheet & Tin Mill with 44 years of service and was a member of the Friendly Sons of Erin. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence; mother, Elizabeth Dolan Schick; and step-father, John L. Rhodes. Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Emilia "Millie" (nee Aznar); three children: James Cavanaugh of Crown Point, Larry (Tina) Cavanaugh of Lake Station and Lori Cavanaugh of Hobart; granddaughter, Rikki Cavanaugh of Portage; step grandchildren: Danny Bell and Angie Yaniz; step great grandchildren: Dominic and Alyssa Yaniz; brother, Denny (Gloria) Cavanaugh of Hobart; brothers-in-law: Marty (Cathy) Aznar and Joe (Marlene) Aznar all of Crown Point; several nieces and nephews; and life-long friend, Dick Kominski of Griffith.
