About Gladys ‘Gla’ Medina was born on September 6, 1959 in East Chicago, IN but she was raised in Gary, IN. She departed this life and entered into God's heavenly kingdom on January 9, 2019.

Gladys graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1978. Gladys attended Indiana University Northwest where she majored in Fashion Merchandising. She later went on to attend Ivy Tech where she earned an Associate's Degree in Secretarial Sciences. After working several jobs in Northwest Indiana, Gladys decided to move to San Diego, CA for the beautiful weather. She made San Diego her home for over 30 years. She retired from the County of San Diego almost 2 years ago. Gladys never forgot where she came from. She will proudly tell everyone she met that she was from Gary, IN. Gladys smile and spirit will live in everyone who knew her. Gladys last words to her family were "Tell everyone I love them" and "Tell Ma and Pop that I love them".

Gladys was preceded in death by her brother's Roberto Medina and Johnny Ubiles. She is survived by her loving parents, Ricardo and Luisa Medina, three brothers Ricardo, Wilfredo (Frances), and Ruben (Wanda) Medina, three sisters Luz Almodovar, Minerva Medina, and her best friend and confidant, Sonia Medina Cuba, special brother-in-law and shopping buddy Rolando Cuba, her godson and nephew, Rolando Cuba II, Special nephews Ricardo Medina III (Dywanna), Ruben Medina Jr., & Ricardo Medina IV, special nieces Iyanna, Ri'Anna and Ri'Yah Medina, Special friend Frankie Montalvo. She is also survived various relatives in New York, New Jersey, Florida and Puerto Rico and many friends in San Diego, CA.
