About	Robert James Bills, M.D., age 92, of Madison, Mississippi, passed away on October 30, 2018. Dr. Bills practiced medicine as a general surgeon in Gary and Merrillville, Indiana for many years before he retired to Mississippi in 1994. He attended Horace Mann High School and Culver Military Academy before attending college at the University of Illinois and medical school at Northwestern University. Dr. Bills also served in the United States Navy. He was known for his extensive repertoire of jokes and bird calls that he enjoyed sharing, especially at Rotary Club meetings and while playing golf at the Gary Country Club. Dr. Bills was an avid fan of antique cars and trains and was active in the Milestone Car Society and the Central Electric Rail Fans Association. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Arlene C. Bills, daughter Betsy Bills Boschert (Neville Boschert) of Ridgeland, Mississippi, and grandchildren, Carl Boschert of Ridgeland, Mississippi, and Katherine Boschert of Dallas, Texas. A private family funeral will be held on November 21, 2018 at St. Columb's Episcopal Church in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
