About	Ethel "Therese" Hogan passed away peacefully on Dec. 21, 2017. Memorial Mass will be Friday, May 4 at 11:00 a.m. SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Naperville. Therese was born in Gary, Indiana Nov. 29, 1925, one of 11 children, to Anna Baranko and Michael Horkavi. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Paul; son Dennis (Irene) of Medford, OR; daughter Kathy of Evergreen, CO; brother Fritz (Patty) Horkavi of Barrington; grandchildren Britt, Wiley and Tony; and great granddaughter Ellen. Therese graduated from Horace Mann High School in Gary, Indiana, and Mary Manse College in Toledo, Ohio. Mrs. Hogan was a teacher at SS Peter and Paul school for many years. She also taught ESL at the College of DuPage and worked at Little Friends. She was devoted to her students and fondly mentioned them throughout the years. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary and helped at the Mother Cabrini soup kitchen in Chicago. She had a life-long love of classical music, opera and Broadway musicals. She was a choir member at SSPP, and director of the Naperville Women's Club "Cum Loudies" singing and performance group. She loved going camping, watching the birds, animals and campfires. She enjoyed being outside in her garden, picking gallons of raspberries and giving them away. Her many interests included bell collecting, handwriting analysis, crafts, natural foods and baking from scratch with honey. Therese especially enjoyed having family and friends visit.
