About	John Phillip "Jack" Isley, 91, of Valparaiso passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018. He was born August 26, 1926 in Gary, IN to Malcolm and Kathryn Isley, graduated from Horace Mann High School and served with the U.S. Army. Jack began the first of his 37+ jobs at age 14. Never idle, always learning and inventing he held multiple patents specializing in machining, but his career branched into aviation, marine transportation, assembly line technology, construction management and any mechanical operation that his engineering mind saw needed improvement. If you had a problem you couldn't solve, you called Jack. On April 13, 2010 he married Cheryl Lape with whom he spent 27 incredible years. She survives along with his brother, Kenny (Jill) Isley, sisters and brothers-in-law, Tammy Isley, Dwayne (Darla) Lape, David (Katie) Lape, Rev. Christy (Rev. Stacy) Dickt, Tiffany Cox, mother-in-law, Nora Lape, friend and caregiver, Nikki Pierce and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter, Vicki Isley in 2017, brother, Alan Isley in 2016, father-in-law, Larry Lape and brother-in-law, Norman(Sheila)Lape. Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory a memorial gathering will be announced, and it will undoubtedly include ice cream as a tribute to Jack, which he could never pass up.
