| About Me | I have had MS for over 20 years. lately it has become progressive. I can't walk without a walker and I have to use hand controls to drive my car. I have been in the Fire Protection industry since 1969. One of notable projects I was involved in was designing the fire protection systems for (what used to be) The First Wisconsin. The 42 story bank building was only the second high rise in the United States that was totally sprinklered. Since 1982 I have been involved with Special Hazards fire protection. I was in charge in designing, inspecting, and test the majority of the MCI telecommunication sites throughout the country. I also was involved with the design, supervision of the installation, and testing of the King Abdul Aziz Royal Saudi Air Force base in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. I have also taught a fire protection course on special hazards at the University of Wisconsin Madison for the last ten years. I no longer travel because of my MS. My company (Fike Corporation) has set up a home office for me to work out of including a chair lift to get down to the office. Because of my 42 years in fire protection I am acting as a consultant to our sales staff and our distributor network.
