Gerard Van Groningen
Class of 1987

An other year has passed on my third deployment to Iraq. I am the leader of a Convoy Escort Team running security missions all through Iraq. Previous to this mission I was on a Sniper Team after my tour in 2005. Before that I was a member of a M1A1 Tank Crew.
The whole experience has been quite different than what I had expected. I plan on volunteering for a mission in Afghanistan after I get home.
