Loreene Sheppard '67 called and asked me to invite everyone (families welcome)
who wants to join her on Saturday, Oct. 20 around 9:00 am in front of the North Highlands Community Center on Watt Avenue next to F.C. Joyce Elementary School, (which was Fruitvale Elementary School when we were in school) and watch the parade. The Highlands High School Alumni Assoication will have a booth from 11 am - 3 pm to let everyone know that they are signing up anyone who attended HHS
for the Alumni Association for only $10 a year. They will have an applicationfor anyone to join on that day. Then she would like everyone to go to Lou's Burgers for a burger ("Dutch Treat" do they still say that?) and a fun time visiting with each other.

The first order of business for the Alumni's is to have a "Highlands High School Gala". Highlands High School turns 50 years old Sept. 2008.

Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008 (with a rain date of Sept. 20, 2008). The Alumni
Association in connection with the Grant School District will have a celebration in the HHS Football Stadium ending with fireworks at the end of the day. There has been a suggestion of a dinner/dance at the Red Lion on the Friday night before but nothing has been decided yet. Saturday activities are not final at
this time but if you would like to join the Alumni Association and get in on a committee they would love to have you join in the fun. As soon as the next meeting date is set up I will let you know. The goal is to have at least 1per
