LaTanya graduated from Highlands High School in 1975. She is the second of 6 children, reased in a single parent household. LaTanya's beginnings were very difficult, her family had limited resources for her and her siblings and were unable to pay for an advanced education. Despite her challenges, she believed that she had something to offer the greater society and made a decision not to give up. Following graduation she joined the United States Army. In fact, her military group was the last of the Womens Army Corps! The GI Bill that she earned permitted her to earn her first degree in Psychology. She continued to further her education earning a BA, MA, and PhD in Clinical Psychology. LaTanya has served as a college instructor in numerous academic settings, she has opened her own private practice a very young age while living in Texas, and continues to further her education and broaden her knowledge and skills. She is also the proud mother of two adult's who also value education!
