Dutch was a very thoughtful and introspective person. He was very unselfish and during combat in Vietnam he shielded his soldiers from a bomb by throwing himself on top of the bomb. The best measure of a man and the greatest sacrifice is to die protecting their fellow man.

Our Highland High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Highland High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated.
