He served our nation as a member of the 2nd Battalion 2nd Marines of the 2nd Marine Division. Serving as a Squad Leader, he fought in many actions in Afghanistan during the War on Terror, and was highly decorated for his sacrifices and personal valor.

Rendering nearly a decade of devoted service to the nation shortly after 9-11, he served 2 tours in Iraq and 1 tour in Afghanistan, where he was highly decorated for his contributions, bravery and personal valor.

He patrioticly served our nation from 1972 to 1980, both during the tumultuous Cold War and Viet Nam era. Performing humanitarian duties as a member of the 121st Evac Hospital, he was a member of the Medical Services Corps and served in many assignments in Germany and Korea in the defense of our vital and valued allies.

Among 2 sons in his family who served in the Viet Nam era, he was from a long line of patriots and served our nation in the Navy, just as his father had, earlier in WW2. Serving also during the proven trials of the Cold War, he served in defense of many theaters and assignments throughout the world.

Coming from a long line of Patriots, his uncle Carl fought at Omaha Beach on D-Day in WW2 and his older brother George was lost at the Chosin in Korea. His grandmother also knew Babe Ruth from his visits to a local resturaunt. Entering service shortly after high school, he served as a Fireman on the USS Hunterdon County, in the homeric defense of Viet Nam, until he was lost on September 12th, 1968, when his ship took small arms fire. The convictions, bravery and dedication shown by Wes and others who served there eventually resulted in our victory in the Cold War.
