George "Trey" M. Small, III Obituary
GEORGE MERIEL SMALL, III "TREY," age 30, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, in Sterling, VA. Trey was born on June 25, 1987, in Fairfax, VA. He had a larger than life personality with a smile to match his big heart. A 2005 graduate of Herndon High School he excelled in football and was a heavy weight champion in wrestling.
Trey was a supervisor of Falls Church Paving, the family business. He was a deeply devoted son, brother and uncle. He enjoyed time with family and friends and weekends in Ocean City.
Trey was a gentle giant with one of the most competitive personalities anyone has ever seen. His cars couldn't go fast enough, the bowling ball couldn't hit the pins hard enough, his motorcycle could never be loud enough and he always made the biggest splash when he jumped in the pool. Trey was also the first one to be there if you needed anything, including a friend to talk to. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
Trey was a loving son to George and Anne Small of Herndon, VA, brother to older sister, Brooke Rodgers, (husband Scott Rodgers and their children, Hudson and Carson) Younger sister, Whitney Michaels, (husband Neil Michaels and soon to be born daughter, Sawyer) Grandson of Lenore Ward and his girlfriend, Tiffany Poynter. Trey is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and family far and wide. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; George and Darleen Small; his grandfather William Ferguson; his great grandmother Veda Markle; his aunt, Rhea Tickle and his longtime good friend, Landon Gilliland.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, from 5:00pm-8:00pm. The Memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 7th at 1:00pm. Both will be held at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home - 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA 22032. Pastor Tim Wilcox and Preacher Harold Howard will officiate.
