Wilma Rebecca Gardner, age 73, of Purcellville, Virginia, passed away on November 28, 2024. Becky was born on June 10, 1951, in Norfolk, Virginia to Ralph Martin Christensen and Ruth Arlene Christensen. During her father's Naval career, the family lived in many places, but finally settled in Hendon,Virginia in the 1960's. Becky graduated from Herndon High School in 1969 and married the love of her life, Richard Floyd Gardner. They made their home in Purcellville and were married 55 blissful years. Their commitment and devotion to one another was unwavering. They were blessed with two daughters Shannon and Danyelle, their pride and joy. Becky was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Taking care of her family and home brought her much happiness. She shared her gift of hospitality with all she met, always making folks feel welcomed and loved. Becky was a beautiful lady with varied hobbies and interests. She enjoyed hunting, cooking, traveling, interior decorating, and telling others about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Becky was a member of the Leesburg Church of the Nazarene where she used her gifts to serve Jesus, the church family and her community. She and Richard went on missions trips to Guatemala and El Salavador, meeting many precious people over the years. Becky loved holidays and looked forward to participating in annual Easter and Christmas productions at church. She was a mentor and supporter to young couples from their Sunday School class, where she created life-long friendships and bonds. Wilma Rebecca Gardner is survived by her husband Richard and her daughters Shannon Englund (Scott) and Danyelle Small (Toby). Her treasured grandchildren are Will and Catherine Englund, Amanda Small, Bethany Grillasca (Tony), Hannah Niergarth (Blake). Great grandchildren include Alexis, Liam, and Maddie Small and Hudson Niergarth. Also surviving is Becky's sister-cousin, Shirlene Brooks, with whom she was raised since birth. Numerous cousins, living near and far, also survive who held a special place in Becky's heart. The family would like to express sincere thanks to the many friends and neighbors who have extended the gifts of time, love, and prayers during Becky's extended illness.
