About	Terry Edward McLearen of Lovettsville, Virginia passed away on June 4th, 2023, at the age of 75. Terry was born in Leesburg, Virginia, the son of James Redfield McLearen and Vada Martena Spence. He grew up near Herndon, Virginia where he developed a love for farming while working on his grandparents' farms. Terry graduated from Herndon High School in 1967, and briefly attended college with a focus on agriculture before enlisting in the Air Force in 1969. In October of '69, he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia “Patti” Peer. They moved to Lovettsville in 1976, where he and Patti built a house and raised four children. Terry made a living as carpenter for 45 years, but at heart, he was a farmer. Many knew him as a real-life ironman who tended to his animals before dawn, worked a full day of construction, and returned home to do the farming in the evening. He and Patti raised Jersey milk cows, chickens, sheep, pigs, horses, and a mule. Terry was an active member in the community. He was a founding member and trustee of the Christian Community Church at Saint Paul's. He was also a member of the Lovettsville Farmers club. To his friends and neighbors, he was someone to call in a pinch. He would drop what he was doing to patch a roof, clear a snow-covered drive, paint a neighbor’s barn, or milk the neighbors' cows. Friends and relatives will remember Terry was an avid storyteller who was never without a colorful yarn. Terry is preceded in death by his wife, Patti. He is survived by his sister, four children, and seven grandchildren. A Celebration of Terry’s Life will be held at 3pm on June 25th at the Lovettsville Game Club.
