Welby Middleton "Squeek" Nalls Jr., 76, of Greeley, Colorado passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022. He was born, May 18, 1945 in Arlington, Virginia to Welby Middleton Nalls Sr. and Elma (Jarrett) Nalls.
Squeek grew up in Herndon and graduated from Herndon High School in 1963. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1963. He also took courses at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs.
Squeek retired from the U.S. Air Force with 20 years active duty and approximately seven years in S.E.A. with B-52's, including two tours in Guam and was stationed in Thailand for seven years. He earned a Vietnam Service Medals with 13 campaigns and five Air Force Commendation Medals. He retired from Lockheed Martin (previously Lockheed & Martin Marietta) after 19 years and then continued to work as a contracted consultant. He worked on the MX Missile and 17 years on the Titan IVA/B program at both launch sites.
Squeek married Beverly Ruth Casebolt on Jan. 6, 1990 in Denver.
He was a member of Logistic Engineers. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, skiing, traveling and racing RC cars with his son and watching his grandsons sporting events. Squeek was always present for any event of step-kids Shannan and Lance.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Squeek. He loved a quiet evening watching the History or Discovery Channel with the love of his life Bev. He thoroughly enjoyed shopping, attending the theater and traveling by her side. He will be terribly missed. "Just like on TV," he loved to say.
Squeek is survived by his wife Beverly Nalls of Greeley, his children, Welby Nalls of Aurora and Kendra Nalls of Aurora; his step-daughter, Shannan Bird and husband Brandon of Windsor, his grandson, Ryan Bird and his siblings, Betty Swartz of Great Falls, and Floyd Nalls and wife Leslie of Stephensville, Montana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings William and Barbara, stepson Lance Jones and grandson, Jacob Bird.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a. m., on Tuesday, June 7 at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
