| About Me | How do I describe myself after all these years? Well, I claim to be a father of one son who is attending Law School right now. I am an uncle to two terrific young people -- my nephew is finishing his 3rd year in medical school and is a commissioned doctor in the Army, my niece is finishing her studies in undergrad psychology and working with a facility for 'young people in distress' while waiting on a decision on her grad school applications. Survived and thriving after a brain aneurism that was the catalyst for my full retirement from corporate america after my first retirement from the USAF in 1996 after 20 years. Consider myself a moderate -- liberal when it comes to social issues, conservative when it comes to fiscal issues; always an American who is concerned about the future generations having as good or better of life than I had. Found my passions in Hermantown -- music, history and politics -- and have been able to pursue these interests in college and in my various career iterations. Have traveled the world both with the USAF and in personal journeys for genealogy and gardening. After having 20 mailing addresses in 30 years I have settled down in Iowa but still find opportunities to travel outside the USA -- to visit family and friends. Because of the stroke my dancing days have been cut back a lot. And my singing voice is struggling to find a range that sounds good to me and pleasant to listeners. Quite a task and physically a bit challenging for me. Head tones cause me to have head aches; lung capacity is not quite what it was before 2005. Another aspect of my new normal.
