HERMANTOWN HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1972 - 50 Year Class Reunion
Hard to believe, but it’s been 50 fast years since we graduated from HHS! It’s a late start we know, but not too late to “reunite” and catch up with our former classmates and friends. Here’s the plan so far:

The kick-off for our reunion will be a casual gathering for the class of ’72, at the All American Club in the Lincoln Park Craft District. What we may remember as the “West End” is these days a hopping, trendy destination. There is a restaurant within the All American Club - “Howard’s Que” which has some pretty stellar reviews and is open until 9pm. Cost for this event will be up to you…food and/or drinks as you wish! Time: 6pm to ?

(Ironically, it is also the 50th anniversary of the Buffalo House - established in 1972!)
In previous years, we have joined with classes 1970-1974, for some of our reunions. It was great to see schoolmates and friends we interacted with in classes, school clubs, athletic events, and outside of school. Because this is our 50th reunion, we determined that we’d like to keep our individual class gathering special; however, we would still like to see people from the other classes so we compromised and came up with this:
From 4-6 or 6:30 pm, we will invite classes 1970, 71, 73, & 74, to join us for a happy couple of hours with appetizers and drinks. There will be no cost for the appetizers, as there are funds remaining from previous combined reunions; however, don’t be surprised to see opportunities to donate a few dollars to offset the cost of the food. Drinks will be on your own!
Beginning at 7 pm, we will have dinner just for the class of ’72, with a program to follow. The menu and cost have yet to be determined, but the Buffalo House offers a variety of options at reasonable cost. That information will be provided to all those who plan to attend, well before the event. A ballpark figure might be $40 to $50 per person…? This would include tax and gratuity. And once again, drinks are on your own.
Spouses/significant others are encouraged to attend any or all of the above events.

For this landmark occasion, we are including/inviting classmates who may not have graduated with us, but attended Hermantown with our class at some point in time. We were fortunate to have the Duluth Air Base located within our school district, and as our little reunion committee discussed, those students “brought the world to us.” Spread the word if you are still in touch with any former classmates whom you think we may have missed and/or might like to attend, or provide their contact information to us.
We are unable to locate the following classmates: Mike Dahl, Joanna Engels, John Larson,
David Blanchard, Terry Byington, Mary Jo Engen, Adele Palmer. If you have contact information for any of these individuals, please contact a committee member.
Last but not least, we thought it would be fun to put together a “directory” to help you catch up on the lives of your classmates. Here are a few ideas to get things rolling - share as much or as little as you’d like, and don’t limit it to what we suggest if you have other thoughts. This is for everyone, so even if you can’t or don’t plan to attend, it would be awesome if you could send us some info about your life! Photos would also be great…past and present! We will provide a copy of the completed directory to all - details for this will be provided at a later date. You can email this info to Lynn Peterson. The Shrine has a capacity limit, and as we are combining 5 classes, we would like an early indication of who is planning on coming so we can make arrangements for any "overflow".
