| About | Chester “Chuck” Huddleston, 68, passed away on May 11, 2026. Born on May 10, 1958 to Bill and Shirley Huddleston, he was a lifelong resident of Hardee County. Chuck graduated from Hardee Senior High in 1976. He worked as an electrician for the phosphate mines, worked a time with Lance Corporation, then retired from Avon Park Air Force Range where he was an electrician. Chuck loved fishing, hunting, woodwork, and being outdoors. He also enjoyed caring for his cows and pet donkey, Jinny. He loved visiting with people and never met a stranger; and he loved a good plate of southern cooking. He became ill with kidney failure a few years ago, but had continued to live life to the fullest following a kidney transplant. He recently had a setback, but is no longer suffering and is now resting in the arms of Jesus. He is preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kay Huddleston, of Wauchula, FL; son Chet Huddleston (Callie) of Zolfo Springs, FL; brother Ed Huddleston (Christina) of Wauchula, FL; stepchildren Scott Nicholson, Lisa Newman (Wayne) of Wauchula, FL, Clay Nicholson (Nicole) of Zolfo Springs, FL; grandchildren Lily and Bristol Huddleston, Justin (Sierra), Jessica, and Jaidyn Newman, Savannah Cobb (Cameron), Colton, and Jaycie Nicholson, Tara and Clara Nicholson; Tyson Pace and Jillian Keen; great-grandchildren Jonah Cobb, Avery, Hudson, and Charlie Newman; niece Laura Jones; nephew Jason Howard (Shanna); a very special aunt and uncle Pauline and Ernest Hendrickson; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins. |
