Randy Scott
Class of 1969
Navy, 22 Years
I served 22 years, 12 as enlisted and 10 as a commissioned officer. Selected for lieutenant commander but declined it and retired as a Lieutenant. We just didn’t want another overseas tour after being out of country for a total of 11 years.(Iceland twice, Newfoundland and Bermuda) I loved my job of providing broad ocean acoustic surveillance, primarily designed to keep track of Russian submarines. This was done from remote land based sites. My wife, Chris Bethel, class of ‘70, was with me throughout my entire career. Picture is of us, circa 1988
