Gary C. Walters
Class of 1970
Working in television broadcasting, doing news, sports, and live events. Was involved in the launch of MTV on August 1, 1981, as I was the Engineer who recorded on videotape the first countdown and launch of the Space Shuttle Columbia, that was used to countdown the hours and minutes until 12 midnight, and then up came the 'MTV Moon Man', then 'Video Killed the Radio Star', etc. Then got to work doing Sabres Hockey and other live sports, including the Buffalo Bills Playoff Game for the AFC Championship in Jan. 1991. Finally, getting to run camera for Irv Weinstein and Tom Jolls at Ch. 7 during the good days of Eyewitness News, when they were #1.
