Judith A. (Judy) Benedict, 55, of Vestal, died at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, Wednesday, December 7, 2005, after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her parents Alexander and Margaret Pilat; grandmother, Julia Pilat; and an infant son, Scott Thomas Benedict. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Thomas C. Benedict, Vestal; a daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Charles McGlynn, Hillsboro, Oreg.; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Sara Benedict, Vestal; two grandchildren, Zayne and Elyza Benedict; a brother and sister-in-law, Martin A. and Pauline A. Pilat, Locke, N.Y.; her father-in-law, Roy Benedict, Groton, N.Y.; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She was an employee of Endicott Precision, a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Vestal. Judy was an avid quilter and gardener and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
