Joined the US Navy out of high school. Spent 4 years as a Draftsman onboard the USS Jason AR-8 (1979 - 1981) and Naval Communication Station Iceland (1981 - 1982) before changing careers to an Engineering Aide with the Navy Seabees. Completed 4 tours with Navy Mobile Construction Battalion 74 in Gulfport, MS (1981 - 1987), CBU-402 in Great Lakes, IL (1987 - 1991), Public Works, Guantanamo Bay Cuba (1991 - 1995) and CBU-401 Pensacola, FL (1995 - 1998).
