| About Me | Air Force Sept 1966 to March 1973. Specialized in Veterinary which dealt with pets, Sentry/Scout dogs and food inspection similar to the USDA. The last few months of my hitch I trained in computer programming. Between discharge and 1986, I worked at 2 companies in Miami, then 2 more in Rochester before accepting a position at the James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Plant in Oswego. After some time as a contractor I went full-time employee in 1995. At that time the plant was owned by the New York Power Authority. In 2000 a company called Entergy bought the plant and I transitioned as well. Eventually I ended up as a Nuclear HQ employee supporting various applications at 9 plants in 7 states (11 reactors total). After surviving several reorganizations, one in 2013 got me <grin> I was full retirement age, so knew it was a possibility I'd be cut. I was, but the severance was decent and it only moved my planned retirement up one year. <shrug> So I departed mid-December 2013 and retirement was effective January 1, 2014. The wife had passed in 2011 so I had restarted my hobby of static model building (mainly cars - I love detailing them), amateur genealogy and reading (hardcopy and e-books). I have also, through the years. tested software of various kinds for several companies. Totally loved that stuff! ======== I'd like to take this time to remember one of our classmates - the late Beverly (Nurse) Richardson. It wasn't known by many but she & I knew each other from the age of 3 or 4. We had first met in the early '50s at Norton Village when our families lived there. We went to the same school for a couple years. In 1955 she moved away and we followed a bit later. In September 1955 I started at Hoover Drive Elementary (now Odyssey?) and Bev showed up!
