About	Vickie R. Coonts-Brewer died Wednesday, January 16, 1985 at a local hospital after a four year illness. Burial is at the West Lawn Cemetery. Vickie was born December 4, 1947 at Grand Island to Al & Ruth (Thomas) Williams. She grew up here and was a 1965 graduate of Grand Island Senior HIgh School. On June 19, 1965, she married Ronald D. Coonts in Grand Island. She worked at the Cornhusker Army Ammuniation Plant west of the city. Later she managed Avis Rental Car and had been secretary for Lutz, Daily and Brain architects during construction of the new city power plant. On May 10, 1980, she married J.W. Holland Brewer at Kansas City, Missouri. While he was on assignment with the company, she returned to Grand Island due to illness. She was a member of the Lutheran faith. Survivors include her husband of Kansas City, a son Troy A.Coonts, her parents of Grand Island and a brother Allen of Lincoln.

Vickie came with Susie Cates. The two were great friends. The first time I ever said the f word was driving with them going down the underpass and the oncoming car was mostly in our lane. Scared me to death.
