About	Steve French April 13, 1947 - February 4, 2025 Steve W. French, 77 of Kearney formerly of Grand Island passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Steve was born April 13, 1947 in Grand Island, NE to Wayne and Dorothy (Schrader) French. He was raised in Grand Island and attended Grand Island Senior High School, graduating with the class of 1965. Steve later attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Steve was united in marriage to Dee Meirath. The couple was blessed with two daughters and 56 years of marriage. Steve was in the drywall trade for over 50 years. He was the owner and operator of French's Drywall for many years. He loved all animals and enjoyed nature. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dee French of Kearney formerly of Grand Island; children, Heather (Jerome) Rewolinski of Omaha and Amber (Dan) Scott of Kearney; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Sid (Penny) French of Grand Island and Stan (Kathy) French of Lincoln. Steve was preceded in death by his parents; and his in-laws, Don and Alleen Meirath.
