About Me	"Spirit of Solidarity" began as an idea in 1997, became the dream of the newly formed non-profit Labor Heritage Society of West Michigan in 1999. Volunteers fund raising in 2001. One million of $1.3 million raised by dedication Apr. 19, 2007 above. Dream: to have every labor union and pro-labor organization represented on the bricks and plaques of the monument site. Imagine solidarity in earth, bronze and stone for generations of people to see on their way to the presidential museum. Dark chocolate, Bill Knapps cake, Fricano's pizza, Beltline Bar hot sauce, Chocolate Pinwheel cookies after being in the refrigerator, sharing food and board game play with friends and family; daughter's contentment, son's humor, wife's joy, helping ex-students become balanced adults, ex-wife's peace, embracing curiosity, gathering wisdom, and seeking humor while being deeply grateful for each day of life with my mind and body intact to enjoy all the above. Treating people as if this were my last day on earth. Philosophy. Once I know why people are the way they are, there is no judgment. We are all dysfunctional in some way.
