Christine Salsberry was a member of the 1989 girl's track team. That year, the team won the Big Eight Conference Championship for the fifth year in a row and advanced to win the sectional title. Christine was a member of the 3200m relay team which won the state title. Chris also won the state title in the 800m and 1600m run. She won first place in the IHSA A Girls Cross Country Finals in her first cross-country season as prior to that she was competing in only track events. She still holds track records at Genoa- Kingston High School. Christine was the first chair saxophonist in the concert band and jazz band and involved in SHS Peer Counseling, FCA, FLC, and National Honor Society.
