About Jerry L. Oberhaus, 66, of Gibsonburg, died on Monday, December 20, 2010 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo. He was born on January 15, 1944 in Clay Center, OH to Herman and Susan (Jensen) Oberhaus. On December 31, 1966 he married Elizabeth Martin at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Genoa and she survives.

Jerry received a Bachelor Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University, a Master and an Education Specialist Degree from the University of Toledo. He was a former high school teacher and coach at Genoa High School and principal at Gibsonburg High School. Jerry retired in 2005 as the district manager at H & R Block, Canton. Sports were a way of life for Jerry. He also enjoyed day tripping and spending time with his family. Jerry was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Gibsonburg.

Surviving are children, Kristin Oberhaus of Sheldon, IA, Jared (Connie) Oberhaus of Palo Alto, CA, Karoline Oberhaus of Gibsonburg, Kendra (Jeremy) Ingram of Huber Heights, Kourtney (Robert) Esker of Genoa, Joel Oberhaus of Gibsonburg, Justin Oberhaus of Gibsonburg and Jamison (Tiffiny) Oberhaus of Helena; five grandchildren, Ana, Wyatte, Corah, Max and Hans; four step-grandchildren; siblings, Bernadine Newton of Port Clinton, Dennis (Mary) Oberhaus of Trumansburg, NY, Carrol (Henry) Krukemyer of Curtice; Janet (James) Purney of Genoa and Tom (Barbara) Oberhaus of Risingsun. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Roger, Noralee Matchett, Donald, Bonnie Keller, Wayne and Paulette Rudes.

Visitation will be on Sunday, December 26, 2010 from 1-3 & 5-7 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 27, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Rev. Ted Miller officiating. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery.
