About	Richard L. Shessler, 74, of High Point, NC, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at The Shannon Gray in Jamestown, NC. He was born to Lyle and Bonnie (Williams - Wilkinson) Shessler on September 6, 1935, in Genoa, Ohio. Richard grew up in Clay Center, Ohio and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a 1953 graduate of Clay-Genoa High School. Richard was employed many years at the Whitehouse Truck Stop in Genoa before moving to Florida, where he worked and retired from Walt Disney World. Richard enjoyed all sports, the Florida teams, especially the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was proud of the recent success of the Genoa Comets High School Football team and was able to attend several games. An avid racing fan, he attended many NASCAR and Indy 500 events. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brother, David. Surviving are daughter, Donna (David) Taylor, High Point NC; son, Steve Shessler, Deltona, FL; grandchildren: Mikel Moorhead, Linda Long, Christopher (Rai) Moorhead; great-grand children: Mikel, Robert, Damien, Kayla; sisters: Joan (Tony) Pietrowski, Alice (Tom) Siglar, and brother, Larry (Karen) Shessler. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and special aunts, DeLores Shessler, DeEtta Kunz and Ruth (Charles) Kozina. Interment services at Allen Township Cemetery, Williston, Ohio will be held at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Genoa Area Schools Scholarship Foundation Fund or the First Presbyterian Church in Clay Center, Ohio Richard's Ohio family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to his granddaughter, Linda Long, for all the love, kindness, and compassion shown in caring for her grandpa.
