About James "Jimmy" Edward Dean, 48 years old, of Toledo, Ohio, lost his battle with cancer on September 3, 2005, at Russell County Hospital in Russell Springs, Kentucky while visiting his parents. Jim was born on January 16 1957, in Toledo, Ohio to Leslie L. (Ike) and Shirley A. (Hoyman) Dean of Russell Springs, KY, who survive him.
Jim is also survived by his daughters, Gwen Bell of Orlando, Florida and Katlynne Dean of Rossford, OH; granddaughter, Erin Bell; sisters, Shelly (Greg) Sanderson of Elmore, OH, Sherry (Pat) Young of Archdale, NC, Kathy (Tim) Douglass of Oregon, OH, Lisa (Jim) Poelman of Hanna, WY; eleven nieces and nephews and numerous friends and relatives including his best friends, Pecos David Wagner and Timothy Monroe whom he considered brothers.
He was a 1976 Genoa High School graduate. After graduation he joined the United States Army where he learned to cook. Most recently he worked as a subcontractor for Monroe Construction. Jim was an avid outdoorsman that loved hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting and was a huge NASCAR fan.
A memorial service (casual dress please) will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, September 10, 2005, at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd., Oregon, OH, where friends will be greeted one hour prior to service. Casual reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI.
