About | Reynaldo "Rey" S. Borjas, 62, passed away January 8, 2006, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in McAllen, Texas, on September 11, 1943, to Simon and Maria Borjas. Rey was a Genoa High School graduate and proudly served with the 101st Calvary Airborne Division of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He then married Otila F. Lopez on October 28, 1967, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Genoa. Rey worked 10 years at Doehler Jarvis followed by 29 years as a dedicated pipe fitter at the General Motors Power Train Plant. Rey was a truly warm, loving man who loved to travel the countryside in his motor home. His infectious warm smile and humor touched anyone who met him. He loved being with his family who meant the world to him. Rey's grandkids were his pride and joy. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, grilling, camping, bonfires, the Florida Keys, Disney World and Cedar Point. Rey was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Antonio Lopez. He leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Otila; children, Reynaldo Jr., Sandy (John) Bricker, Norma (Chris) Ramey, Rolando, Ricardo; 13 grandchildren; siblings, Julia (Ed) Soto, Maria (Gene) Mireles, Aurora (Jeff) Jones, Eduardo (Diana) Borjas, Lisa Rios, Jose (Wendy) Borjas, Dora Borjas, Marty (Terri) Borjas and Linda Borjas. Rey will be deeply missed and memories of him will be cherished forever. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, on Wednesday, January 11, 2006, from 4-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Friday at 10 a.m. and proceed to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Clay Township Cemetery. Contributions may be to the American Cancer Society or to the Borjas family. |
